Hays Health & Safety are excited to be supporting an established Construction & Civil Engineering organisation based in Chester to find an experienced, problem-solving SHEQ Manager.The organisation is seeking a Health & Safety and ISO expert who can play a significant part in developing, maintaining and implementing robust management systems across the business on all of their sites.The successful candidate will, as a minimum, have a civil engineering and/or construction background, with a track record of achieving ambitious targets in an intense environment, alongside relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH in Construction.Your new role

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement preventative measures
  • Train and educate employees on health and safety measures
  • Monitor compliance with legal guidelines and company standards
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to determine causes and manage corrective actions
  • Oversee quality control processes to ensure construction projects meet required standards
  • Implement strategies to minimise the environmental impact of construction activities
  • Prepare reports and maintain documentation related to SHEQ activities and compliance

To be successful in this role, you will have an expert knowledge and ability to manage Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality issues across multiple sites. You will have a past history of success with external audits and can demonstrate positive culture change in previous roles. You will be able to demonstrate experience in similar settings and ideally have Lead Auditor status, with a collaborative attitude and a natural problem-solving ability.For this role a generous salary of £60,000 DOE will be offered to the successful candidate.
