Essential Requirements:

  • Full driving licence and access to a car
  • Minimum of 2 years of plant experience in a steel or construction-related industry
  • Time-served fitter
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Desirable Criteria:

  • NVQ Level 3 or above in Mechanical Engineering
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform mechanical maintenance, refurbishment, and repair of mechanical equipment within the cranes department
  • Undertake preventative and corrective maintenance on overhead traveling cranes
  • Repair mechanical items to a high standard using existing drawings
  • Assist in the development and design for the manufacture of spare parts for cranes
  • Repair and refurbish existing equipment
  • Support workshops, auxiliary plants, and downshifts as required
  • Conduct risk assessments and LOLERs (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations)
  • Perform zone safety audits
  • Maintain and promote a high level of Health and Safety
