TATA's Shotton works are responsible for delivering 500,000 tonnes of metallic coated and pre-finished steel per year to a variety of customers. The successful applicant will be someone that has a high attention to detail and is customer focused, methodical and has previously worked in a planner role.

Role - Logistics Planner

Pay - £26,500 per annum, £13.59ph

Location- TATA Steel, Shotton Works, Shotton Records Centre, Deeside CH5 2NH

Shift pattern- Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours per week

Duration- 6 months initially with the view to extend

Start - ASAP (1-2 weeks) but pending the result of a medical

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering logistics planning and ensuring the effective transportation of products
  • Communicating with Production Managers on a daily basis via telephone and email
  • Providing a range of planning and support activities for the plant units
  • Generating reports as requested and in a timely fashion
  • Maintaining existing planning and scheduling systems
  • Being a single point of contact for scheduling and planning enquiries
  • Using MS Excel at an intermediate level including formulas, vlookup and pivot tables
  • Communicating with internal and external contacts in a clear and efficient manner
  • Providing resolutions to all queries raised
  • Adhering to UK Health and Safety Legislation at all times
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the department

Experience needed:

  • Prior experience in Supply Chain/Planner/Scheduler role
  • Capacity to operate with minimal supervision
  • Strong IT literacy skills including MS office, especially Excel
  • Experience with in house IT systems
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience using SAP (desirable)
