The role of Business Analyst Apprentice will be working within the Business Support team within the Rail division of Telent's Transport business. This team supports Rail in their delivery of various telecoms projects and service across the UK's rail network. Business Support contains administrative functions, helping with time keeping, PPE, internal communications and much more, and an analysis function with Business Analysts and Data Analyst that work on business processes and reporting.

What you'll do:

  • Analysing a wide range of data from across Rail
  • Keeping our databases updated with real time data and business information for specific areas
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, analyse and create reports on business requirements
  • Maintain 100% accuracy of configurated data and its relationships to where it appears within the data information
  • Learn how to interpret data and patterns within this
  • Documenting simple procedures and developing new process design
  • Learn and understand the business processes within Rail
  • Support project onboarding and off boarding for systems
  • Alignment checks and reconciliation of configuration data with multiple data sources
  • Identify and resolve exceptions through liaison and queries with other team members and departments
  • Learn how to generate reports and attend meetings on ad-hoc basis
  • Reconcile data from the various systems and sources into Power BI
  • Working towards multiple delivery deadlines whilst keeping up data quality standards

Who you are & what to prepare for:

  • We don't require individuals with experience as we will provide full training in all aspects of the role. We are looking for candidates with an interest in data, analytics or statistics and enjoys problem solving
  • You will get a mobile phone and a laptop as part of the role
  • Although supported throughout the programme by us at Telent you will need to take ownership of your tasks and personal development
  • The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail skills with a logical mind. You will have strong interpersonal skills with strong communication skills. It will be important to have an organised approach with the ability to use initiative with a positive, resilient work ethic.
  • Familiar with the Microsoft O365 suite.

Key requirements:

  • 5 GCSEs grade A-C or equivalents in subjects Maths, English, Science or
  • X2 A-Levels within relatable subject area
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.
  • Must be able to commute to Telent office locations as and when required.
  • Must be over the age of 18 by September 2025.

Programme Specifics:

  • This apprenticeship is typically 18 months in duration
  • Starting salary of 18,000 which will increase throughout the duration of the programme
  • The qualification you gain will be a Level 4 Business Analyst qualification.
  • Our chosen training provider will support you in obtaining your qualification
  • You will work in an Agile model from both our office in Warwick location and remotely from home. From time to time there will be travel to other Telent locations for meetings or training
  • On completion of your apprenticeship, we hope to offer you a full-time position with Telent where you can continue to pursue your career
  • You will be mentored by colleagues, supervisors, managers and tutors throughout the programme
