Our client are a leading telecommunications company and specialist in the design, build, operation and maintenance of the UK’s critical digital infrastructure.

Within this role, you will support the business in achieving excellent health and safety standards in accordance with UK legislation, European Directives, and client standards. 

The EHS Advisor will support the corporate QEHS team with implementing processes in line with industry best practice and minimising the potential for injury.

The responsibilities for this role include:

  • Manage a portfolio of work, providing competent EHS support
  • Promote a positive EHS culture to the stakeholders and employees
  • Assist with internal and external EHS audits within the business unit to ensure compliance with all EHS, business and legislative requirements
  • Undertake site inspections as per an agreed schedule
  • Lead assigned site team forums to support the achievement of compliance with statutory obligations
  • Author of Toolbox Talks and Alerts as required
  • Undertake Incident Investigations and the evaluation of non-conformances
  • Actively seek out opportunities to improve overall service delivery for EHS provisions
  • Maintaining compliance with business DSE processes
  • Review and production of EHS Documentation
  • Assist the Corporate EHS Lead as required in the provision of and effective EHS service to
  • Facilitate and support the improvement of performance in Health and Safety
  • Monitoring and Reporting on EHS Performance
  • Advising on EHS issues as required
  • Providing DSE assessments and advising Business Support Line Managers in relation to personnel safety
  • Promoting good practice relating to statutory obligations associated with office and site safety and statutory duties; and coaching individuals to improve overall health, safety and environmental practices at the company premises
  • Assisting business support managers and Site Responsible People in the investigation and reporting of accidents, incidents and non-conformances and making recommendations for corrective action
  • Assisting Estates & Facilities in the approval of Safe Systems of Work and other EHS documentation as required
  • Supporting the corporate audit programmes, including company premises EHS inspections
  • Ensuring effective implementation of EHS policies and procedures across business support as required
  • Developing Toolbox Talks, alerts and bulletins to support communications for change implementation and improvements in practices

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Previous experience holding a similar position within EHS
  • Familiar with Estates & Facilities Management.
  • Formal Health and Safety Management Qualifications (min NEBOSH Cert)
  • Experience in auditing and coaching teams to improve H&S Culture.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft office 365/IT skills to manage data and log daily progress.
  • Full Clean Driver’s Licence  
  • Proven communication and influencing skills in a similar role
  • Demonstrable stakeholder management skills
  • Proven analytical skills/Previous experience of data management, records systems and reporting tools requiring an accuracy to detail
  • Previous experience of Site inspection including hazard spotting, reporting, communication and delivery of improvements within premises EHS activities
  • Previous experience of successful continual improvement projects within an EHS environment
  • DSE Assessor (Desirable)
  • ISO 45001:2018 Internal Auditor (Desirable)
  • NEBOSH Diploma (Desirable)
  • Trained Trainer (Desirable)
