What you'll do:
As an Assistant Accountant, your role will be pivotal in supporting the accounting function for both the parent company and its subsidiaries. You will be responsible for preparing accounts, posting and reconciling various financial elements such as stock, expenses, credit cards, and bank statements. Your keen eye for detail will be crucial in managing intercompany reconciliation and handling exchange rates in Business Central. In addition to these responsibilities, you will also assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and information. Your role will extend to supporting the quarterly and month-end closings for the Group in the absence of the Finance Manager/Group Accountant.
- Prepare the accounts for the quarterly and monthly closings for the Group's small/dormant subsidiaries.
- Analyse, post and reconcile stock for 2 manufacturing locations.
- Post and reconcile expenses, credit cards and bank statements.
- Manage intercompany reconciliation and exchange rates in Business Central.
- Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Support the quarterly and month end closings for the Group in the absence of the Finance Manager/Group Accountant.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Assistant Accountant position brings a wealth of experience from at least 5 years working as an Accounting Assistant or Bookkeeper. You possess a solid understanding of accounting principles which you apply proficiently using accounting software like Microsoft Dynamics (Business Central) or Continia. Your analytical skills are complemented by your strong attention to detail ensuring accuracy in all tasks undertaken. Your excellent communication skills enable you to interact effectively within your team while also being capable of working independently when required.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience as an Accounting Assistant/Bookkeeper.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and ideally Microsoft Dynamics (Business Central) and Continia.
- Analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
