  • Join our OHL Transmission and Distribution team as a Project Manager, responsible for the overall delivery of OHL projects across the UK with a focus on planning, design, and commissioning.
  • The role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience managing projects of 33kV and above, along with relevant certifications such as CSCS and SMSTS.
  • Key responsibilities include conducting project reviews, ensuring health and safety compliance, and managing subcontractors to meet contractual obligations.
  • Candidates with a formal qualification in project management and experience with DNO projects are preferred, although not mandatory.
  • The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience, reflecting the importance of the role in ensuring successful project outcomes.

By joining ourOHLTransmission and Distributionteam as aProject Manageryou will have overall accountability for successful project delivery including planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning and handover/close out on OHL Projects

Our projects are site-based / UK Wide howeverwe welcome flexible working.This role is available full-time hybrid working.

Accountable for

  • Hold periodic project reviews with site teams and clients.
  • Ensure reports provide relevant information to enable decisions to be made
    which are informed, cost effective and in line with overall business strategy
  • Prepare and present both internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders
  • Ability to interrogate designs and challenge inputs and deliverables

    Health, Safety & Environmental
  • Forecast cost and resource requirements.
  • Ensure a relentless focus on Health and Safety & keep up to date with changes in
    legislation
  • Carry out Safety & Environmental audits.
  • Lead Accident/Incident Investigations and monitor effectiveness of the H&S Management System and implement improvement actions
  • Lead on reviewing RAMS and accepting subcontractor RAMS
  • Develop H&S plans and ensure it is treated as a live document and ensure sufficiency and competency of workforce
  • Coordinate and manage all project activities and internal functions and identify and control resource to deliver works
  • Develop high performing teams, promote a pipeline of talent and assist with
    internal training through supporting, guiding, motivating and empowering the
    team. Using the resources available through training, mentoring and
    performance management.
  • Lead risk/opportunity reviews, ownership of the Risk Register and
    recommend/implement changes. Log and escalate any issues that cannot be resolved at delegated level of authority
  • Manage subcontractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and
    progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary, such that
    contractual arrangements are achieved.
  • Support and contribute with tenders and new work applications.
  • Ensure Quality assurance activities are undertaken and take appropriate
    action on findings and lead working groups on focused improvement areas.
  • Monitor progress and implement Short Interval Control processes/hold weekly
    meetings and ensure production of operational milestones reflect master schedule andclient expectations.
  • Incorporate and balance both operational and commercial constraints into
    decision making.
  • Support and contribute with tenders and new work applications.


Essential

Must have experience managing projects 33kv upover.

  • 5 years experience managing projects.
  • CSCS and SMSTS or Equivalent
  • Able to demonstrate a track record of project delivery
  • In depth understanding and practical experience of standard forms of contracts
  • Planning and programming experience.
  • Driving Licence

Desirable:

  • Formal qualification in project management (APM)
  • Experience managing DNO projects.
  • IOSH / NEBOSH
