Contract Thermal Systems Engineer, £35.00 per hour, Coventry, Warwickshire, Leicestershire + work from home

- Initial contract of 9 months, up to £35.00 per hour commensurate with experience on an inside IR35 PAYE contract basis.
Are you a Thermal Engineer / Thermal Systems Engineer / Thermodynamics Engineer that wants to work on the very latest, cutting-edge battery electric vehicle and fuel cell vehicle technology projects?
Do you have a background in thermal management systems, thermodynamics, HVAC systems, heat pumps, refrigerant systems, battery thermal management systems
This Contract Thermal Systems Engineer job will involve:
- Supporting the development of innovative vehicle thermal management systems for energy efficient battery electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicle applications for established vehicle manufacturers and start-ups.
- Conduct bench tests and vehicle climatic tests for the development and optimisation of automotive thermal systems battery electric vehicles and fuel cell electric vehicles.
- Process data and use thermodynamic tools for the analysis of system performance and efficiency.
- Write technical test reports, outlining results and recommendations.
- If you have 1D modelling experience you will also have the opportunity to perform 1D modelling of HVAC systems, vehicle powertrain cooling systems, and battery thermal management systems using GT-suite.
This Contract Thermal Systems Engineer job will suit:
- You will to be degree qualified in an automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar engineering discipline.
- You have good knowledge and understanding of thermodynamic principals.
- Good understanding of the physics behind thermal systems / refrigerant systems / HVAC systems.
- Any experience of automotive / vehicle engineering thermal management systems would be preferred but we can consider candidates with thermal engineering / thermodynamics experience from other engineering sectors e.g. aerospace, buildings, industrial engineering etc…
