Position Title: Management Accountant

Reports to: Finance Director

Location: Oxfordshire

Description:

I am working with a Luxury Hotel where they are looking to grow the team with a management accountant into the Oxfordshire office. This is great for seasoned accountants seeking an exciting career jump and to be a part of an expanding finance team.

Key Accountabilities:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing forward-looking financial and operational information for your business partners in order to support decision-making, alongside great financial and commercial insight
  • Assisting your partners in the closure of month-end accounts, including interrogation of account codes to provide analyses to the teams
  • Working together to develop and continually improve routine accounting, control and operating processes, for example in stock accounting and monitoring the operation of these processes
  • Preparing annual budgets and strategic plans and assisting in the compilation of aggregated budgets and production of the budget pack
  • Understanding the key drivers within your business areas, including the impact of changes in levels on performance, the integration of this into forecasts and assistance in preparation of this as required
  • Interacting with our guests, always warm, professional, helpful and doing everything you can to exceed their expectations, playing your part in making their stay with us luxurious in every way
  • Supporting and answering questions and providing assistance to stakeholders, management and members as needed
  • Suggesting changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, cost reductions and improve member experience

Key Skills:

  • Ideally you have relevant accounting and commercial experience, part professionally qualified or qualified, however not necessary if qualified by relevant degree or experience (QBE)
  • You've a huge appetite to learn and develop, hands-on in the role itself and through additional accounting training
  • Naturally inquisitive, you're able to corroborate information across a variety of sources and driven to understand the underlying key drivers of a business
  • You have the ability to view information from a variety of stakeholder perspectives and present this concisely and professionally; you're also computer adept, with great experience in Excel
  • Supremely reliable, you always ensure every job is completed to the highest standards consistently
  • Enthusiastic and socially adept, you'll have the confidence to build relationships seamlessly, both internally and externally
  • You have a positive "can do" attitude to solving problems
  • A strong team player with great communication skills and an enthusiastic approach; you're well-organised and punctual with an eagle eye for detail
