Tony Alan Recruitment currently has an amazing and exciting job opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join a small company based just outside Burgess Hill, however part of a larger group with offices all over the world.

Working in a team of 3 managing the UK finances, this role is remote working for the bulk of the time, with catch ups with the other finance team 2 - 3 times a month. Due to the role and office location, you will need your own transport. Please see further details:

Your duties will include:

  • Reconciliation of 5 bank accounts
  • Accounts to trial balance
  • Accruals and prepayments
  • Posting journals
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes within Sage
  • Order processing via Salesforce
  • Dealing with multiple currencies including Euro and US Dollar
  • Expenses and Credit Cards
  • Quarterly VAT Returns
  • Assisting with Year End
  • Liaise directly with customers and suppliers during the order process
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Assist with quarterly VAT returns
  • Support and assist the Finance Manager with office management tasks
  • Maintain accurate data within various admin systems

Key requirements:

  • Experience working up to trial balance
  • Exposure to Sage and Salesforce highly desirable
  • Use of excel to an intermediate level
  • Comfortable and committed to working from home
  • Own transport needed due to office location
  • AAT advantageous
  • Ideally available at short notice
