What are they looking for?

  • Demonstrated expertise in financial positions, ideally in legal or professional service sectors.
  • Proficient in utilizing digital banking tools and financial platforms, especially LEAP.
  • In-depth knowledge of credit management procedures and adherence to financial laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional organizational capabilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Effective communicator, adept at managing and resolving financial inquiries.
  • Well-versed in Anti-Money Laundering regulations and the rules governing solicitor accounts.

Responsibilities as a Legal Cashier:

  • Oversee office and client financial records, ensuring accurate cashbook management.
  • Handle online banking, including fund allocation, payment processing, and securing payment templates.
  • Manage cheque issuance and banking activities.
  • Input all matter-related financial transactions into LEAP system.
  • Notify staff of incoming funds, verify sources, and process payments accordingly.
  • Assist team with finance-related queries and resolve client financial concerns.
  • Process card payments and handle invoicing and credit note issuance.
  • Record cost recoveries and ensure correct VAT handling for Infotrack.
  • Manage petty cash and conduct reconciliations between cashbook, bank, and LEAP.
  • Collaborate with accountants on ledger issues and liaise with auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with AML and Solicitors Accounts Rules, tracking any breaches.
  • Provide fee earners with regular financial updates on outstanding balances and aged debts.
  • Maintain communication with the bank's relationship manager.
