Lead Driver with warehouse responsibilities

Full Time Permanent role

Monday - Friday 0800-1700

Employer based in Burgess Hill - driving routes will mainly be South East and London and will involve around 5-10 deliveries per day. Vehicle is a 3.5t Luton sized van

Salary £30000-£32000 plus very good company benefits.

The role:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of transport operations, ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of goods to clients using the company fleet.

The role would involve driving a 3.5t van.

Responsibilities:

Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their transport needs are met and any issues are resolved promptly.

Supporting the manager with the planning and scheduling of transport jobs, optimising routes to maximise efficiency and profitability.

Accurately record charges and prepare invoices for clients.

Continuously analyse and improve routes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Oversee the goods in/out process, ensuring accurate stock records are maintained.

Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment.

Loading and unloading deliveries

Key skills and competencies required:

Must hold a valid driving license with at least 7 years of driving history and be able to drive Luton-sized 3.5t vehicles.

Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to solve problems effectively under pressure.

Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.

Building rapport easily with clients and colleagues.
