Database Architect
Location: Burgess Hill, UKJob Type: FTESalary: 70000- 75000 GBP/ Year
We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Database Architect with experience in working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle for application development, database placement design, tuning, DDL promotion, and upgrades. If you have a passion for solving complex database challenges and possess a strong technical background, this could be the perfect role for you.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, construct, and oversee complex database solutions for critical applications.
- Analyze structural requirements and design conceptual and logical data models.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless database integration.
- Take initiative in tackling new database challenges and implementing best practices.
- Work on cloud-based technologies (Azure) and assist with database upgrades and tuning.
- Mandatory: Strong experience with RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Oracle); knowledge of SQL Server is a plus.
- Expertise in database design, tuning, and DDL promotion.
- Experience with NoSQL technologies such as Couchbase and Cassandra (ideally).
- Ability to design, develop, and optimize database solutions.
- Strong working knowledge of DevOps tools such as Git, Ansible, Terraform, Docker, and exposure to CI/CD pipelines.
- Technical Qualifications: Graduate/Postgraduate qualifications, ideally with prior experience in a financial or fintech company.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Jira, Rally, Kanban, Confluence).
