Finance Manager

£44,000 - £50,000, Burgess Hill, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5pm, Pension, Parking, Holiday

The Role

Due to impressive company growth, our client, a specialist fire and security systems business, is looking to add a Finance Manager to their business. Working as part of the Senior Management Team and reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Finance Manager will be involved in all elements of financial control across the whole business including oversight and management of end-to-end finance function, statutory accounts, forecasting, and budgeting and improving and implementing processes.

  • Managing the day-to-day financial operations including some indirect people management
  • Identifying, creating, and improving company controls, policies, procedure, and systems whilst identifying opportunity for cost reductions and improved efficiency across the business
  • Creation of Management Accounts, budget, and forecasts
  • Preparation of statutory accounts
  • Monitoring & balancing cash flow
  • Provide financial reporting & analysis to guide decision-making
  • Identify opportunities/risks and recommend further courses of action
  • Oversight of payroll preparation including CIS deductions and reconciliation
  • Staying updated with changes in accounting, CIS (Construction Industry Scheme), VAT, pensions, and payroll legislation.

Requirements

To be successful in the role of Finance Manager, you will be a commercially astute senior finance professional. CIMA / ACCA qualifications are preferred, but those qualified by experience will also be considered. You will ideally have experience working in a growth focussed SME. You will have excellent communication skills and be comfortable presenting ideas, challenging, influencing, and improving processes. You will be someone who enjoys developing a deep understanding of a business' inner workings and someone who strives to enhance and improve the finance function across a whole business. This role could suit someone who has worked as Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Head of Finance, Management Accountant.
