Academics is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist SEMH school in Burgess Hill. This is an excellent opportunity to support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH) in a nurturing and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead small group sessions and provide targeted learning support

  • Assist in planning and delivering lessons under the guidance of teachers

  • Support students' emotional well-being, behaviour management, and engagement

  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and therapists

Requirements
  • HLTA qualification or extensive TA experience with progression

  • Experience working with SEMH or SEN students

  • Ability to lead small groups and support learning effectively

  • A patient, resilient, and proactive approach

  • Full UK driving licence (school is not easily accessible by public transport)

  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check
