Position Overview:They have an immediate opening for a Site-Based Engineer to join their Engineering Team. This role involves working with our lighting and energy monitoring products across a variety of sites, including high-end residential apartments, commercial office blocks, trading estates, and universities. This position is ideal for someone with an electrical background looking to advance their career in smart building technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation: Execute small on-site installations and modifications of energy monitoring systems and associated panels, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
  • Commissioning: Attend sites to commission Synapsys metering, logging, integration, and lighting equipment. Configure Modbus/Mbus/DALI and IT networks to ensure correct system operation.
  • Fault Finding: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to lighting and energy monitoring systems, employing troubleshooting skills to identify and rectify faults efficiently.
  • Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate energy monitoring solutions into existing infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and data accuracy.
  • Nationwide Travel: Willingness to travel nationwide for on-site project activities, ensuring timely completion and customer satisfaction.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed project documentation, including installation records, troubleshooting reports, and integration documentation.
  • Customer Support: Provide technical support to clients, offering guidance on system usage, addressing queries, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in electrical panels and some electrical installation, with a focus on energy monitoring systems.
  • Relevant electrical certifications and energy monitoring technologies.
  • Strong understanding of energy management principles and sustainable practices.
  • Proficiency in fault finding and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good awareness of health and safety safe systems of work.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide for extended periods.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with the installation and maintenance of energy monitoring hardware and software.
  • Familiarity with data communication protocols used in energy monitoring systems (Modbus, Mbus, MQTT).
  • Understanding of IT networking.
  • Project management skills to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
