Hospitality Assistant

Burgess Hill, £19,951, 32 hours p/w over 4 days, rota shifts including alternative weekends, overtime available at generous rates, pension, sick pay, free meals, free mini bus service, use of extensive grounds, social events throughout the year.

The Role

We are delighted to be working in an exclusive capacity with our award winning client based on the outskirts of Burgess Hill. This exclusive retirement village is nestled in the heart of beautiful countryside and offers its residents exceptional facilities and a broad range of services including a superb restaurant, café/bar, shop and extensive leisure facilities such as pool and games room, library and a hairdressing salon.

The role of Hospitality Assistant is to provide and deliver an efficient high quality service to all residents and visitors to the Village. This is a varied role with a wide range of responsibilities. You will be required to work in different areas of the business including the restaurant, cafe/bar, shop and leisure areas.

Typical duties include:

  • Preparing the eating areas to receive customers
  • Meet & greet customers in a welcoming manner, showing them to their table and taking orders
  • Assist in serving food and clearing tables
  • Manage the bar duties including serving of drinks, stocking the bar ready for service and serving customer.
  • Shop duties, stocking shelves and assisting residents with their purchases
  • Preparation and cooking of bakery and breakfast items
  • Oversee the use of the swimming pool
  • Concierge duties such as booking taxis, help with internet searches etc

Requirements

We are seeking candidates with good interpersonal skills who have the ability to prioritise work and deal with a varied range of tasks. You must be well presented, have good communication skills and have a flexible approach to working hours. It is essential that you have good computer skills and are numerate.

The company work to a 4 week rota and shift patterns are varied - 7am - 4pm/10.30am-7.30pm/12pm-9pm (1 hour unpaid lunch). It is essential that you are able to be flexible and work to the rota which will include alternative weekends.

Full training will be given in all aspects of the role so no experience is required though desirable.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
