Belcan is excited to be seeking a Lead Engineer!

What: Contract, 12 months

Belcan has some exciting and challenging roles for a Lead Engineer to join our client's team in Reading, UK. We are looking for applicants with either mechanical or control & instrumentation biases. You will be involved in concept studies through to detailed design, providing a variety of interesting work across multiple industries including: Water, Transport, and Energy sectors such as Green Energy, Nuclear, and Oil and Gas.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Lead Engineer you will provide technical input for projects and proposals including the preparation, checking, and approval of engineering documentation, equipment and materials. You'll also mentor and develop graduates, ensuring compliance with all applicable national and international codes of practice, legislation, and company/client standards and procedures. Additionally, you'll prepare work scopes and equipment requisitions, review supplier quotations, and prepare technical bid assessments.

About You:

  • Over 10 years of engineering experience in the Oil & Gas, Nuclear, and/or Water sectors.
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Mechanical or Control/Instrumentation).
  • Good working knowledge of design practices and installation requirements across a range of industries, with extensive knowledge of UK legislation, standards and HSE requirements.
  • Experienced in the requirements of CE marking of plant and equipment.
  • Chartered or Incorporated engineer status with a relevant professional body, or evidence of working towards gaining these professional titles.
