Our client is a well-established software company who are going through an exciting period of transition and looking to appoint a Financial Controller to join their current leadership team. As Financial Controller, you will sit with the leadership team on a regular basis and be responsible for the overall financial operations, reporting and future performance of the business. They have exciting plans and are looking to continue their market reach across the UK, already having an established customer base they wish to continue their organic growth with their clients’ needs at the heart of what they do.

Specifically, as Financial Controller, you will take ownership of:

  • Leading the finance team and providing a timely and informative month end management reporting pack for the Board, alongside the statutory accounts.
  • Provide strategic insight into the commercial performance of the monthly KPI reports, inclusive of gross margin, revenue and analysis.
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process alongside the CEO.
  • Providing future revenue potential, customer trends and market analysis to execute potential sector opportunities.
  • Lead from the front in all things finance and manage all the reporting controls and processes to provide accountability around the financial reporting.
  • Work closely with departmental managers to ensure tight budgetary controls and expenditure.
  • Manage all the tax compliance, VAT payments and work closely with the internal and external advisory contacts.
  • Closely monitor the monthly payroll and expenses process.
  • Lead on financial projects as they arise working alongside the CEO.

The Successful Applicant:

  • Ideally a Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong commercial focus.
  • Proven experience in a similar role with responsibility for managing all aspects of the finance function.
  • Previous experience working in a SAAS based business would be an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Sage 200, advanced Excel skills and power BI.

The company offers a hybrid working model and is well structured in its approach with remote working. You will however be expected to attend the office on a weekly basis to work alongside your team.
