This Management Accountant job is for a well established Manufacturing business in East Lancashire. This business is financially stable with projected growth, has multiple sites, operates internationally and has a really friendly finance team. Their finance team is situated globally, but with their main finance team situated in Altham. Working in a global team of 11, reporting to the Finance Manager based on site, you role will be responsible for the management accounts for the 2 UK entities, supported by an assistant.
This will include producing the monthly financial and management reporting, a detailed P&L and variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, managing cashflow, VAT returns, year end audits and ad hoc projects.
You will also work closely with operational staff essentially business partnering to improve profitability, this will include challenging sales forecast with the sales team to ensure accuracy and delivery whilst also working closely with production on cost control, WIP, stock control and supporting the manufacturing process to drive efficiencies producing reporting and analysis frequently as requested by the production manager.
- This position will only suit a candidate working within a manufacturing environment as it is essential you have an understanding of accounting for stock, WIP, BOM's and generally how a manufacturing business operates in order to support production drive efficiencies.
- You must also not be precious about transactional duties within your remit as the business operates a collaborative team mentality and all get 'stuck in' when required.
This position will ideally suit an experienced assistant / management accountant who has full responsibility for at least one set of management accounts. You may be qualified or working towards (study support available), but qualified by experienced candidates will be considered.
Salary for this role is between £40,000 and £45,000 but this may be negotiated slightly. Benefits are enhanced, hours are between 35 and 37.5 with a half day Friday.
