We are working alongside a large European client based on the outskirts of Burnley who are the looking to add to the team an Assistant Management Accountant to join them due to an internal promotion.

The business is fast paced and requires someone who is keen to learn and develop their financial reporting skills across business, as well as being able to adapt to different challenges as they arise. The role will be managed with a solid and experienced Financial Controller who will mentor you through your studies and offers a wide range of experience for you to get exposure to.

Duties as the Assistant Management Accountant will include:

  • Responsible for the reporting of the monthly profit and loss accounts supported by a loose commentary of variances.

  • Work closely with cost centre leaders to understand controls and variances around internal expenditure and budgetary controls.

  • Understand the stock reporting cycle and stock level variances/movements.

  • Main point for contact for stock related queries working closely with sales and operational staff where necessary.

  • Report all utilities/overhead accruals monthly.

  • Responsible for production/manufacturing volumes and monitor weekly variances.

  • Monitor the customer rebate system and calculations closely.

  • Assist with the audit process and answer any queries where needed.

The successful candidate will be actively studying towards qualifying in the profession through CIMA/ACCA and be working their way through their experience. With this you will have gained a few years background within a finance department and have gained an understanding of the transactional processing but also understand the reporting in the wider business sense.

We are looking for someone who is wanting to progress and learn within a solid technically reporting environment, where you will have exposure to both financial and commercial decision making. The role is an excellent opportunity for you to qualify in the next couple of years.
