Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and program Mazak CNC machines using Mazatrol controls, specialising in either milling or turning operations.
- Manufacture components to precise tolerances for a variety of industries including aerospace, rail, and oil & gas.
- Work on small batch, complex components, ensuring quality is maintained throughout production.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications, and tooling instructions.
- Conduct in-process inspections and ensure adherence to customer and internal quality standards.
- Maintain machine tools and follow best practices for health, safety, and housekeeping.
- Collaborate effectively with supervisors and other team members to meet production deadlines.
Skills & Experience Required
- Time-served CNC Machinist with a strong background in precision engineering.
- Extensive experience operating Mazak CNC machines, with programming skills in Mazatrol.
- Proficient in either CNC milling or turning, with flexibility to support both where required.
- Capable of working to a range of tolerances depending on the project and client requirements.
- Confident working on smaller, high-precision batch work.
- Strong work ethic with a professional and collaborative approach.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and quality standards independently.
- A commitment to maintaining high levels of accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
