Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and program Mazak CNC machines using Mazatrol controls, specialising in either milling or turning operations.
  • Manufacture components to precise tolerances for a variety of industries including aerospace, rail, and oil & gas.
  • Work on small batch, complex components, ensuring quality is maintained throughout production.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications, and tooling instructions.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and ensure adherence to customer and internal quality standards.
  • Maintain machine tools and follow best practices for health, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Collaborate effectively with supervisors and other team members to meet production deadlines.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Time-served CNC Machinist with a strong background in precision engineering.
  • Extensive experience operating Mazak CNC machines, with programming skills in Mazatrol.
  • Proficient in either CNC milling or turning, with flexibility to support both where required.
  • Capable of working to a range of tolerances depending on the project and client requirements.
  • Confident working on smaller, high-precision batch work.
  • Strong work ethic with a professional and collaborative approach.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and quality standards independently.
  • A commitment to maintaining high levels of accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
