CNC Toolmaker
You will be responsible for producing precision tools, moulds, and components using conventional, CNC and EDM machinery. This role requires strong technical expertise, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Tool Production:Design, manufacture, and maintain precision tools, jigs, and fixtures using a range of manual, EDM and CNC machines to produce deep draw press and plastic moulding tooling.
- Programming:Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software to ensure efficient and accurate machining.
- Machine Setup:Set up and operate CNC milling, turning, grinding, and other machinery as required, ensuring proper tool alignment and machine calibration.
- Inspection and Quality Control:Use precision measuring instruments (e.g. micrometres, callipers, gauges) to inspect finished products and ensure they meet specifications and tolerances.
- Problem-Solving:Troubleshoot and resolve machining and tooling issues to maintain quality and efficiency in production.
- Collaboration:Work closely with engineers, production teams, and other toolmakers to optimize processes and achieve production goals.
Required Experience
- Qualified/Time served engineer with relevant experience
- CNC machining (Lathe and Miller)
- Manual machining
Preferred Experience
- Tool Maker: 4 years
- EDM machining (Wire and Die Sink)
- Use of CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks preferable)
Wage and Hours
- Job Type:Full-time
- Expected hours:40 Hours per week (following induction period)
- Wage: 16.70 minimum + shift rate (Rate of pay depending on experience)
- Schedule: Starting day shift for induction period, rotating early and back shift following induction.
- Day Shift- 7:30-15:30 Monday-Thursday, 7:30-14:30 Friday
- Early shift- 6:00-14:00 Monday-Friday
- Back shift- 14:00-22:00 Monday-Friday
