We are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a high school in Burnley, providing support to students with additional needs. This role is ideal for individuals with backgrounds in sports coaching, MMA coaching, support work, or other roles requiring strong behaviour management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to students with additional needs, helping them engage in learning and achieve their potential.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to create a positive and structured learning environment.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to adapt learning materials and approaches.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress.
  • Support students with both academic and social development.

Requirements:

  • Experience in behaviour management (e.g., sports coaching, MMA coaching, support work, or similar).
  • A patient, resilient, and proactive approach to supporting young people.
  • The ability to de-escalate challenging situations and use positive reinforcement.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
  • Previous experience working in education or with SEN students is beneficial but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
