Teaching Assistant for SEMH Provision

Are you passionate about supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a brilliant team in an SEMH school.
This role involves working closely with students who require additional support in their educational journey.
These students will present with various additional needs, including ADHD and autism.
Resilience is a vital skill for this role.

Role Overview:

Position: Teaching Assistant (SEMH)

Minimum Rate of Pay: 95 P/D

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide Classroom Support: Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons, adapting materials, and ensuring a positive learning environment.
Individualised Support: Work closely with students, understanding their unique needs, and providing targeted assistance during class activities.
Behaviour Management: Implement behaviour management strategies, promoting positive interactions and emotional regulation.
Small Group Work: Facilitate small group sessions, reinforcing learning objectives and building students confidence.
Collaborate with Staff: Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a holistic approach to student development.

Requirements:

Experience: Previous experience working with SEMH students or in alternative education settings is advantageous.
Empathy: Ability to connect with students, demonstrating patience and understanding.
Adaptability: Flexibility in responding to individual needs and adjusting teaching methods accordingly.
Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture.
Enhanced DBS Check: Successful candidates will undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
