Kenwood Recruitment Solutions Ltd have partnered with an exceptional housing provider based in East Lancashire to recruit for an experienced Complex Needs Support Worker. As the Complex Needs Support Worker, you will be supporting a caseload of vulnerable clients in various aspects of their daily lives to help them achieve positive outcomes. This is a fairly new service so the successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to work with an almost brand new team.

The Complex Needs Support Worker will carry out a range of duties, some of which have been listed below:

  • To provide structured support sessions on an individual basis, assisting with any needs detailed such as coordinating doctors appointments, assisting with financial and benefits issues, and providing emotional and psychological support.
  • Ensuring that individuals are maximising their benefits, including supporting them to make claims and liaising with the Dept of Work and Pensions and Housing Benefit staff as necessary
  • Support residents in understanding their responsibilities to maintain their placement and prepare for future accommodation.
  • To ensure all equipment in each property is in good working order, maintained in a clean and functional state of repair, and all maintenance, health and safety, and repair issues are documented and reported.
  • Collaborate with residents to develop comprehensive move-on plans, identifying realistic options for their future housing needs.
  • Providing support to ensure that individuals are able to maintain their tenancies, including debt/arrears management, anti-social behaviour resolution, and the issues that can arise from shared living.
  • Liaise with different professionals and agencies to ensure the service users are receiving the support they require to achieve the most positive outcome.

Key Skills, Experience and Knowledge:

  • Ability to work with vulnerable adults with complex needs (such as substance misuse, physical health, mental health, seeking employment and housing support).
  • Understanding of safeguarding
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with challenging behaviours and a variety of different backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Ability to develop person centred support and move on planning.
  • Must have access to own vehicle, a full UK license and will be required to complete an enhanced DBS, Although being on the DBS update service will be preferred.

This is a temporary role and the hourly rate is £15.18 per hour Umbrella. this role has the potential to be come permanent after a few months.

The successful Complex Needs Support worker will be available to start the contract atshort notice or immediately if this is possible.

Candidates with a work background in residential care may be considered dependant on transferable skills and must have the genuine passion to move in the supported housing sector. Training will be provided in areas where candidates require or request up-skilling.
