Manufacturing Engineer – Composites 

Location: Burnley
Type: 12month contract

PAYE: £27.18 per hour + £3.95 per hour holiday pay

Umbrella: £35 per hour   

Hours: Standard day shifts, 4.5 days per week (37hours), with early finish on Fridays

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a specialisation in composites to join our Aerospace Manufacturing client team on a temporary 12-month contract. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and innovative projects, particularly in the aerospace sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement complex composite manufacturing processes that align with product design specifications.
  • Design manufacturing processes that meet or exceed customer demand, ensuring capacity and capability.
  • Develop and validate standard operating procedures, work instructions, quality control points, and inspection methods.
  • Ensure that effective plant, equipment, and tooling strategies are in place.
  • Create essential documentation, including routes, bills of materials, master layouts, tooling requests, data sheets, and associated drawings.
  • Plan, drive, and coordinate industrial product validation activities across various functions (methods, purchasing, engineering, etc.).
  • Assess risks of changes and implement risk reduction actions using PFMEA.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in complex composite manufacturing processes is highly desirable, particularly within an aerospace context.
  • A degree in engineering (with elements of mechanical, manufacturing, and materials), HND, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in CATIA v5 modeling application to effectively work with 3D component information.
