JOB TITLE: Production Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Production
LOCATION: Bancroft Road, Burnley Site
REPORTS TO: Production Co-Ordinator, Production Manager
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Production Operators
JOB PURPOSE
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting a team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. Reporting to the Production Co-Ordinator, the role focuses on achieving targets, compliance, and process improvements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Team Management
- Lead, motivate, and support the team to meet daily production targets.
- Communicate plans effectively and ensure tasks are understood.
- Provide feedback and support for new starters and ongoing performance.
Health and Safety
- Promote safe working practices and ensure team compliance.
- Conduct audits, risk assessments, and address incidents.
- Ensure all start-up checks are completed to standard.
Quality Assurance
- Maintain product quality to meet specifications.
- Monitor and address non-conformances to prevent reoccurrence.
Operational Efficiency
- Allocate labour effectively to optimise performance.
- Minimise downtime during start-ups, changeovers, and trials.
- Monitor performance data and implement improvements.
Documentation and Reporting
- Complete and maintain accurate production records.
- Submit daily reports and ensure compliance with company standards.
Continuous Improvement
- Support Lean initiatives by encouraging ideas from the team.
- Actively address and escalate unresolved issues.
General Duties
- Ensure hygiene and housekeeping standards are met.
- Provide support across other areas as required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications and Education
- Good standard of English and Maths.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (desirable).
Experience
- Team leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- FMCG production knowledge (preferred).
Skills and Attributes
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficient in analysing data to improve performance.
- Reliable, proactive, and adaptable.
