Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant who has supported children with SEN on a 1:1 basis? I am working with a lovely, friendly primary school in Burnley that requires a patient, calm Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs in Key Stage 2. The children are based full-time in their mainstream classrooms, but require help to engage and progress with their learning activities.

The Teaching Assistant needs to be able to provide effective interventions so you will need good knowledge of the curriculum and how to support children with SEN including ADHD and autism. You must be confident with your behaviour management and be able to build good relationships with children who can be challenging at times. You will be required to carry out general Teaching Assistant duties in class as well as work with the child you are supporting.

This SEN TA role is to start after summer and is required until the end of the academic year. This role is full-time and has a daily pay rate of £85 to £95 depending on experience.

Essential requirements:

  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Relevant qualification such as degree or TA qualification, Level 2 or Level 3
  • Professional references covering the last two full years
  • Teaching Assistant experience supporting children with SEN in KS2
