SEN Teaching Assistant - Autism Support - Burnley (September Start)

Romano Education is looking for a Teaching Assistant to support students with autism in an SEN school in Burnley starting September 2025. This is a long-term role for a Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs.

SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with autism
Assist in delivering individual education plans (IEPs)
Implement communication strategies such as PECS or Makaton
Support students with daily classroom activities and social development
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and school staff

SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:

Experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in an SEN setting
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred)
Understanding of autism and sensory needs
Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
