Are you a dedicated and passionate educator looking to make a real difference in both the classroom and the wider school community? We are seeking a Key Stage 2 (KS2) Class Teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our inclusive and thriving primary school in Burnley. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a dual role, teaching and leading SEND provision across the school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons to KS2 pupils, ensuring all children are supported to reach their full potential.
  • Lead the strategic development of SEND provision across the school in line with the school's ethos and national policies.
  • Identify, assess, and support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in collaboration with teachers and parents.
  • Create, implement, and review individual education plans (IEPs) and other learning support strategies.
  • Work closely with external agencies, ensuring that the school provides the best possible support for students with SEND.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of all pupils, particularly those with SEND, to ensure they achieve positive outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Previous experience teaching KS2 is required.
  • SENCO qualification (or working towards it) is desirable, though experience supporting pupils with SEND is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and experience in implementing SEND strategies.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals.
