An Environmental company that offers unique Green Building solutions are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer with a Geology and Civil Engineering education that offers a consultative approach within their friendly office team based in Burntwood! Annual Salary: £40,000 to £45,000Annual Leave: 28days plus Bank HolidaysWeekly Hours: 8.30am to 5pmJob Description:Operating as a member of a technical team within a fast-growing company, the successful candidate will be responsible for design packages from early feasibility and costing stages through to the completion/ checking of formal design packages for retaining solution.This will involve assessing ground investigations and completing numerical modelling to ensure solutions are EC7 and BS compliant and producing design reports. Responsibilities:
  • Interpretation of ground investigation and client drawings in completion of design reports
  • Use of modelling software to aid in validating proposed solutions
  • Working in conjunction with others within the technical team to determine initial solutions and produce the relevant CAD details
  • Assess the commercial impact of chosen designs
  • Providing geotechnical advice to team and clients
  • Liaising with clients to help investigate solutions
  • Assessing and coordinating geotechnical testing requirements on site
  • Visiting site to confirm ground models and aid in quality assurance
  • Aiding in in house training
Key skills and Experience:
  • Degree in geology/ civil engineering BEng, BSc or equivalent
  • MSc in Geotechnical engineering or Engineering Geology
  • Working towards chartered status
  • +3 years experience in a relevant civil engineering/ geotechnical engineering field
  • Knowledge of computer software 
  • Experience in AutoCAD
  • Practical knowledge of geotechnical properties, ground investigation and geotechnical report writing
  • Knowledge of Eurocode/ British standard compliant design preferably with respect to retaining walls
