Customs Clerk - Lichfield - Up to 30,000 plus bonus
The Customs Clerk for this Lichfield based company will be required to liaise closely with their operations team to ensure all relevant customs documents have been generated and I.T systems (both internal and external) are updated in a timely manner.
The successful candidate will have good/strong knowledge of Customs and European freight forwarding. You will be arranging and completing all associated paperwork for import and export clearances.
Full time: - Monday to Friday 08:30-17:30

Day to day:
* Create Customs declarations ensuring correct codes / schemes
* Create transit documents and ensure Customs compliant.
* Prepare all paperwork for Import and Export
* Liaise with customers and suppliers to obtain relevant paperwork.
* Arrange transport for both international and domestic from start to finish
* Cost and provide quotes for all enquiries, offering advice on transit and Customs formalities.
* Deal with any Border Force enquiries.
* Co-ordinate day-to-day schedule for drivers & use of subcontractors.
* Finalise file checking charges in preparation for invoicing.
* Undertake reasonable requests from managers in line with the range and scope of the post.
* The conduct of the post holder must be in accordance with the terms of any UK legislation
* Demonstrate a professional attitude towards work, including confidential information.
About you:
* Be a self-starter with high levels of motivation to do a great job.
* Have a good understanding of customs
* Ideally have experience of Destin8, CNS
* Have made the import customs clearance yourself generating the C88
* Have some experience using different CSPs, eg MCP, Pentant, CCS
* Have an understanding of import VAT and duty, quotas
* Be used to customs Invoicing and query resolution
