Group Health & Safety Manager - Manufacturing - Staffordshire

Brooklyn Recruitment are currently working with a manufacturer of stainless steel and aluminium food, beverage and pharmaceutical products. This company are based in the Burntwood area of Staffordshire, close to Lichfield, Cannock and Walsall. They are looking for a Group Health & Safety Manager / Group Health and Safety Manager to join their team.

You will be based form the head office but developing strategies and policies to roll across all of the sites. The other sites mainly manufacture stainless steel and aluminium products with some being more technical than others.

As Group Health & Safety Manager / Group Health and Safety Manager you will be:

  • Developing and revising Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Responsible for keeping all Health and Safety records up to date.
  • Undertaking fire risk assessments.
  • Reporting any major incidents and assisting with investigations.
  • Undertaking audits.
  • Inducting any new starters to the local sites.
  • Working with managers and department heads with regards to Health and Safety issues.
  • Other duties as required.

As this is a Group Health & Safety Manager / Group Health and Safety Manager although you will be based from the Burntwood site you would be required to visit the Groups other sites (11 currently, most very local 3 mile radius). Most of these visits should be able to be completed in a day but overnight stays may occasionally be required.

To be suitable for this role of Group Health & Safety Manager / Group Health and Safety Manager you should have previously held a similar Health and Safety role within a manufacturing environment (welding, grinding, cutting). You should be a great communicator and have good management skills. You should hold a NEBOSH qualification as well as having conducted audits previously (ideally ISO level).
