Our client, a leading global automotive manufacturing company based in Burntwood, is seeking an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join their dedicated team of 6 engineers. This role involves working across three rotating shifts: Early (6am-2pm), Late (2pm-10pm), and Night (10pm-6am).

Multi Skliied Maintenance Engineer Key Responsibilities:

  • Injection Moulding Machine Fault Finding: Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on injection moulding machines to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Implement and execute preventative maintenance schedules to extend the lifespan of machinery and equipment.
  • General Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks across the facility, including repairs, servicing, and troubleshooting of various manufacturing equipment.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, including fault diagnosis, repairs carried out, and parts used. Report any recurring issues to the maintenance manager.
  • Collaborative Work: Work effectively within a team, supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge to enhance the overall efficiency of the maintenance department.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and suggest improvements to equipment and processes to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing environment, with a strong electrical bias.
  • Extensive experience in fault finding and repairing injection moulding machines.
  • Solid understanding of preventative maintenance techniques and practices.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications or certifications are highly desirable.
