Afterschool Club Manager
Our Client is looking to employ a Afterschool Club Manager to work Term-Time for their high-quality bespoke Afterschool Club based near Burntwood, Staffordshire. The successful candidate must work passionately with the ever-changing climate of childcare to ensure they are accounting for any pioneering research or digging deep into theory to support children in reaching their potential
This is a unique opportunity for someone who is looking to further their career in childcare in a Term-Time position and lead the our of school club team. The setting supports staff to progress in their knowledge through robust continued professional development programmes
Main Duties for this role:
- Supporting the staff team in developing practise though modelling and or training
- Supporting through direct working in the club with the staff in ratio during the working week
- To ensure all staff understand their roles and responsibilities and hold staff to account for their positions.
- Supporting staff as individuals, taking time to understand their needs and promoting staff confidence and wellbeing.
- Induction of new staff following company policy and following a programme of supervision to support existing staff. Including setting up robust plans of support as required.
- Reviewing policy and procedure and ensuring policy is followed at all times
- Taking the lead in all matters inclusive of safeguarding ( as DSL) and staffing, reporting to company director so she can represent the company during external safeguarding meetings etc.
- To understand and manage registers/booking systems inc funding and keep all registers and bookings up to date.
- Ensure all booking systems are followed correctly, registers are kept up to date and accurate information is share with interested parties, ie Director and office staff.
- Ensure the Out of school club is working in an economically viable way, monitoring ratios, staff effectiveness, ensuring numbers of children are in line with staffing to avoid any redundancies.
- Monitor staff attendance and record any consistent absence to discuss with staff, in line with staff absence policy.
- To build and uphold good relationships with the school and other outside agencies involves with children in your care.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum of a relevant and recognised Level 3 qualification
- Evidence of ongoing personal development training
- Desire to continue with professional development
- To have a current live DBS
- Knowledge of legislation relevant to Early Years such as EYFS, SEN, safeguarding
- Experience in working with children
- Knowledge of Child Development and children’s needs
