SF Recruitment are pleased to be exclusively partnered with a leading, high growth construction & manufacturing business based in Burton-on-Trent in the appointment of an exciting Financial Controller vacancy.

A global leader in their market, this is an exciting, people focussed business with scope for growth within the  the wider organisation. 

As Financial Controller, you will work alongside other Financial Controllers in the Group structure playing a key part in the success of the finance team. You will be responsible for all statutory work related to the business, working as part of the team to ensure processes standardisation alongside acting as a key ally and financial advisory sounding-board within the team. Alongside this, you will also play a key role in supporting the General Ledger team in the performance of their role.

About your role:

  • Drive the period end closing (month and year end)
  • Perform month to month analysis during the closing, in order to check integrity, consistency and reasonableness of the account's balances
  • Operate full accounting of holding companies if applicable (all activities end to end process)
  • Supporting rolling forecast & annual target setting processes
  • Regular meetings with Budget Holders
  • Balance sheet management including the monitoring of assets and liabilities, including quarterly reviews with stakeholders
  • Utilise Automated Tools to identify anomalies to investigate
  • Safeguarding Tax Compliance (Income Tax, VAT, PSA etc)
  • Liaising with External Tax Advisors to complete Tax Comps
  • Calculation of Year-end Tax Forms
  • Quarterly POA and allocation over Group companies in GPA
  • Complete annual Transfer Pricing Exercise for entities in scope
  • Tax related activities
  • Main Contact for External & Internal Auditors

About you:You will be an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with sound technical finance grounding, ideally suited to an individual making their first or second time move from practice.

You willl be a strong communicator with exemplary relationship building skills, applying a proactive approach to work and able to work on your own initiative under independent decision making, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach. You will be ambitious, motivated, and driven to succeed, with this role providing you the opportunity to potentially develop within internal roles or enhance your CV on the path to more senior positions in your career. This role is a hands on role, requiring a flexible approach with a willingness to go the extra mile 

The ideal candidate will be available to start on a 1 month notice or less however this is non-essential.
