Our client, an organisation in Burton-on-Trent, is seeking a talented Management Accountant to join their team. As a Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in providing accounting support for the production of management accounts, insight, and analysis. You will collaborate with the business to ensure a clear understanding of performance drivers and support decision-making processes. Additionally, you will be responsible for meeting key deadlines, ensuring audit and SOX compliance, and actively contributing to process improvements within the finance team.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the monthly production of Management Accounts for the Leisure division, including reviewing and submitting numbers, understanding and explaining variances.
  • Providing information and ad-hoc analysis to support day-to-day decision making.
  • Post journals, such as accruals/prepayments, in our accounting system and produce accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Review the work of the Finance Analyst, providing insightful feedback and development points.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Business Partner to ensure correct accounting practises are applied when needed.
  • Maintain the integrity of financial information for audit and SOX purposes.
  • Work with the finance team to identify and drive efficiencies and maintain effective communication channels.

Skills and Experience:

  • Part/Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Understanding of Revenue accounting, including IFRS15 and ASC606, is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Excel and experience with ERP systems (Dynamics 365 beneficial).
  • Continuous improvement mindset with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing abilities.
  • Team player with self-motivation and the ability to prioritise workload
