Rental Engineer – UK-Based (Field Role)

Location: Based from headquarters (Burton on Trent) with UK-wide travel
Salary: Up to £39,520 per annum (excluding overtime)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm (40 hours/week)
Overtime Pay: Time and a half after 8 hours/day • Double time after 15 hours/day • Saturdays: Time and a half • Sundays: Double time
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Our client is looking to recruit two Rental Engineers to join its growing UK Rental team. This is a field-based, hands-on role responsible for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of our client’s rental fleet, including load banks and transformers. You will be key in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of equipment across a variety of UK-based projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and commission load banks and transformers on customer sites
• Carry out inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults
• Perform safe electrical installations and testing before energisation
• Complete pre- and post-installation risk assessments
• Record all work, service logs, and reports accurately
• Support warehouse operations: 5S, stock takes, and housekeeping
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients
• Travel and overnight stays will be required, with accommodation and expenses covered

What We’re Looking For:

• Electrical Engineering qualification (minimum Level 2) – Level 3+ preferred
• Experience working with loadbanks, transformers, or generators
• ECS Card and HV qualification highly desirable
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and technical drawings
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• A team player with a professional, customer-focused approach
• Willingness to travel and stay away from home when needed
