We are looking for a Finance Technician for an initial 6 month contract within a local authority establishment based in Newland, Lincolnshire.

15.90 per hour (inside IR35 via an umbrella company only)

37 hours per week

The post is to support the Place, Fire & Rescue finance teams in the end to end process of Budget Setting, Budget Monitoring and Closure of Accounts.

The role will be varied and include tasks such as, utilising finance system to produce reports, completing transactions (ie journals, recharges), management of the shared email account and answering queries. Training and support will be provided.

Skills/experience required:

  • Preferably AAT membership, or working towards it.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of principles of financialmanagement, accounting principles and practice.
  • Detailed knowledge of Financial Strategy, financial regulations, financialprocedures, schemes of authorisation and their rationale within thecontrol framework
  • Good communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively withofficers, external auditors and partners, including funding bodies andgovernment departments and agencies, so as to secure their confidenceand respect.
  • Good ICT skills, including corporate finance systems (e.g. Agresso) andExcel.
