Location: Burton upon Trent
Hours: Full-time, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday - Hybrid working 2 days WFH
Salary - 35,000 DOE
About the Position:
We are seeking a Seafreight Pricing Operative to join our dynamic team in Burton upon Trent. The key focus of this role is to support the UK Seafreight Product team by assisting with the maintenance and distribution of cost pricing, and ensuring the efficient delivery of sales pricing to relevant stakeholders. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service while handling pricing and quotes for seafreight operations.
Seafreight Pricing Operative Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for customers, other offices (including overseas), agents, shipping lines, and haulers.
- Call Handling: Manage all incoming calls from internal/external customers, ensuring timely action is taken.
- Customer Enquiries: Respond to all customer inquiries promptly and professionally, escalating when necessary.
- Support for Other Departments: Provide support and cover for other departments during absence periods as needed.
- Seafreight Quotes: Liaise with stakeholders to formulate and deliver Seafreight quotes in a timely manner.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain an in-depth understanding of the Seafreight product, including Incoterms, to provide accurate information and quotes.
- Service Excellence: Demonstrate high levels of service quality to all internal and external customers.
- Cost Analysis: Analyse CBM and W/M variances, ensuring meticulous attention to detail.
- Exchange Rates: Stay updated on exchange rates and maintain knowledge to ensure accuracy in pricing.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Pricing and Procurement Manager to develop strategies for new and existing customers.
- Market Monitoring: Collaborate with Trade teams to monitor trends on all trade lanes.
- Sales Support: Assist external sales teams in closing new business.
- KPI Achievement: Meet set monthly KPIs, including but not limited to the number of quotes, success rates, and losses.
About You:
- Educational Qualifications: GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English (grade A-C).
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience in Freight Forwarding, preferably with multinational company experience.
- Knowledge: A strong understanding of Incoterms and Seafreight products.
- Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong numerical ability, and proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Teamwork: Ability to work well within a team and collaborate with various departments.
- Attributes: Strong timekeeping, hardworking, diligent, and self-motivated with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
