Key Responsibilities:
- Stock Control & Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, ensuring timely replenishment of materials.
- Perform regular stock checks and audits to identify discrepancies.
- Track and manage goods received, ensuring proper documentation and storage.
- Materials Handling & Logistics:
- Efficiently handle the movement of parts and components throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Coordinate shipping and logistics of parts to customers, including managing packaging and labeling.
- Execute weekly van deliveries of parts to key customers, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
- Order Processing & Supplier Liaison:
- Process orders from the manufacturing department, ensuring materials are available as needed.
- Communicate with suppliers for reordering parts and managing lead times.
- Shipping & Dispatch:
- Prepare and ship products to customers, ensuring compliance with delivery schedules.
- Manage shipping documents, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.
- Health & Safety:
- Ensure all tasks are carried out in line with health and safety regulations, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized storage area to minimize hazards and ensure smooth operations.
- Collaboration with Production Teams:
- Work closely with the manufacturing and production teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Address any shortages or supply chain issues that might impact production timelines.
- Customer Deliveries:
- Take responsibility for weekly van deliveries to key customers, ensuring parts arrive on time and in good condition.
- Other Duties as Assigned:
- The role may involve additional responsibilities related to inventory, logistics, and other support tasks as required.
Experience Required:
Minimum 2-3 yearsof experience in astores or warehouse role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Experience in stock management and working with inventory systems.
Proven track record in shipping, logistics, or order fulfillment.
Experience Preferred:
Previous experience in the electrical or electronic manufacturing sector, particularly with wiring harnesses or electrical components.
Familiarity with ERP or stock control software used in manufacturing.
Skills Required:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and inventory management systems.
Ability to lift and move heavy items, adhering to health and safety practices.
Valid UK driving license for making van deliveries.
Effective communication skills for supplier and customer interaction.
Skills Preferred:
Forklift certification.
Familiarity with electrical components or wiring harnesses.
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes related to electrical engineering.
