Our client in South Derbyshire, which provide specialist ground, environmental, structural and design services are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer that works within the civil sector based in Burton on Trent.

The Geotechnical Engineer position is for someone with a background in land quality assessment and a technical background with experience of investigation and interpretation on brownfield regeneration projects. To be successful in securing an interview the candidate will demonstrate a land quality assessment and have a passion to work within a geotechnical environment. The Geotechnical Engineer will be assessing data from the field, designing foundations, and organising work on site.

Geotechnical Engineer Position Overview

  • The design, supervision, and management of site investigations including costing and procuring
  • Undertaking ground investigations and engineering assessments
  • Informative reports or geotechnical and environmental.
  • Overseeing of foundation construction and earthworks.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are met.
  • Environmental calculations
  • Ability to work on site
  • Earthworks specification, design and supervision.
  • Foundation design skills.

Geotechnical Engineer Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree within an Earth sciences discipline
  • 4 years + relevant experience within geotechnical design and investigation and geo-environmental fieldwork
  • Member of the Geological Society and wanting to get Chartered
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Experience of AutoCAD, QGIS, Slide, Holebase or Geo5
  • Ability to log Soil Samples and Rock Samples
  • Team player
  • Experience of solving difficult time sensitive issues

Geotechnical Engineer Position Remuneration

  • Salary from £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
