Job Title: Estimator - Structural Steel
Location: Home /office - sites as and when required
Salary: Up to 80,000 per annum, DOE + expenses
Role Overview
We are looking for an accomplished Estimator - This key role demands expertise in structural steel and a solid track record of managing complex estimates. Ideal candidates will be analytical leaders with strong negotiation skills, capable of ensuring our bids are competitive and successful.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver precise cost estimates for structural steel projects, encompassing design, fabrication, erection, and associated services.
- Interpret project requirements, specifications, and drawings to create accurate, competitive bids.
- Guide and mentor the estimating team to uphold accuracy and high standards.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to offer cost-effective, value-engineering solutions.
- Manage tender processes, oversee bid submissions, and present to clients.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure optimal pricing and terms.
- Track and adjust estimates to align with project budgets over the lifecycle.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, materials, and innovations to enhance market competitiveness.
Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive estimating experience in structural steel or construction.
- Strong understanding of structural steelwork, including design, fabrication, and erection.
- Demonstrated leadership with team management experience.
- Proficient in estimating software and MS Office Suite.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and strong in negotiations.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Degree or qualification in construction, engineering, or related field is desirable.
