Are you a highly motivated and an experienced Wills & Probate Solicitor looking for a new challenge for 2025?

Becky at JT Recruit would like to hear from you, she is working in partnership with a sole law practice based in DE14, who position themselves as one of the best solicitor firms in Burton on Trent.

The practice specialise in a wide range of practice areas, such as Business Premises, Dispute Resolution, Family and Relationships, Houses, Property and Neighbours, Immigration, Media, IT and Intellectual Property, Social Welfare, Health and Benefits, Wills, Environment (Business Premises), Landlord and Tenant, Banking and Finance, Charities, Mergers and Acquisitions, Commercial Litigation, Personal Injury - Defender, and a range of other legal specialisations.

As a small knit team, they understand that legal issues can be stressful and overwhelming. That is why they provide their clients with clear and practical advice tailored to their individual needs. Due to retirement, you will need to demonstrate you have strong background in wills, probate, and estate planning, able to handle your own diverse caseloads, with a passion for delivering high-quality legal advice and support to clients.

You will be a confident, proactive and structured individual who will be experienced in a broad range of matters, to include, but not limited to, the following: -

Preparing lasting powers of attorney to include registration of EPAs and LPAs.
Preparing deputyship orders.
Preparation of Wills, including those utilising trusts to assist with more complex family situations.
Advising on risks of death, divorce or bankruptcy in respect of lifetime gifting.

Advising on obtaining grants of probate.
Advising on letters of administration.
Settling estate liabilities.
Administration of taxable and non-taxable estate.
Court of Protection practice

Trust Administration
Ensure matters are up to date in systems and new advancements are communicated to the relevant team members.
Record all time in the system, including non-billable activities.
Take responsibility for managing the client experience. Attend client meetings where necessary.
Takes a keen interest in business development for the department and contributes where required.

Membership in STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) is an advantage

This is a full-time post and will be office based.
