We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Parts Cleaner / Inspector to join our clients team. In this role, you will be responsible for the cleaning, preparation, and inspection of engine, transmission, and raft parts. You will play a critical part in ensuring the parts meet the highest quality standards by following strict procedures and working closely with production and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities & Activities
  • Cleaning & Preparation: Use manual tools, dual acting sanders (DA), scrapers, and other equipment to clean and prepare engine, transmission, and raft parts.
  • Machine Operation: Load and unload parts into cleaning machines, ensuring proper handling and care.
  • Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections to identify signs of damage, wear, or structural defects, and record the acceptance or rejection of parts on inspection reports.
  • Disassembly: Disassemble parts for re-use or deep cleaning as required.
  • Fault Analysis: Interpret and present findings of any faults or defects discovered during inspections.
  • Schedule Coordination: Work closely with production and engineering teams to understand and support the production schedule, minimizing interruptions to manufacturing output.
  • NDT Equipment Maintenance: Maintain Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) equipment as needed.
  • 5S Activities: Participate in and support all relevant 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) activities to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all company and statutory Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental, and Personnel policies and procedures. Report any near misses and ensure waste is disposed of correctly.
  • Mentorship: Mentor trainees and apprentices, providing guidance and sharing your expertise.
  • Issue Reporting: Report any issues or problems with jobs to the line manager promptly.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Take on any other reasonable tasks that align with your skills and abilities.
