Ideal Recruit are looking for an experienced Transport Operator to work for our reputable client in Burton Upon Trent. The successful candidate will collaborate with the wider transport team to design efficient and cost-effective transportation routes, considering factors such as delivery schedules, traffic conditions, and fuel consumption. This role ensures execution of the routes planned and provides exceptional service to the Drivers on the road.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordination and Dispatch: Work closely with the wider transport team to coordinate the movement of goods, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries. Utilise transportation management systems to track the routes and communicate with drivers and delivery personnel.
• Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing enquiries, resolving transportation-related issues, and maintaining positive relationships with the drivers, colleagues and clients.
• Problem Solving: Respond to unforeseen transportation challenges and implement effective solutions to minimise disruptions and maintain high service levels.
• Environmental Sustainability: Collaborate with the Transport Planner to implement eco-friendly practices that align with the company's commitment to environmental sustainability.

Skills/Experience/Qualifications:

• Experience in a Transport function or department
• Experience in a customer facing role / customer service experience
• Familiar with TMS Systems
• Knowledge of Transport Operations
• Knowledge of Transport Regulations
• Full UK Driving Licence

Successful candidate(s) will be required to undergo a basic Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) Check
