Who are we looking for?

In order to increase our bank of casual Exam Invigilators, we are looking for candidates who will be available to work on an ad-hoc basis as required. The College operates examinations throughout the year from 09:00 until 21:00 (on occasions) weekdays only. Exams can be of any duration from 1 to 3.5 hours and are under the aegis of multiple exam boards. There is an expectation of regular availability to invigilate exams and some availability to support admin tasks within our Data or Exams teams.

Demand on our invigilators is high and, in addition to invigilation, there is a regular requirement for people to read or scribe for our supported learners. Exams take place on both sites in Burton Town Centre and our Construction Academy at Swadlincote. You will need to be able to ‘think on your feet’ and be comfortable dealing with post 16 and adult learners. Full training and opportunities to shadow will be available for successful applicants.

You will be paid for the duration of the exam + half an hour beforehand to ensure a timely start for the students.

Applicants should be qualified to, or willing to work towards, Level 2 English and Maths. Evidence of qualifications is required.
