What You'll Do:As a Harness Wirer, your primary responsibility will be the meticulous assembly of wiring harnesses, encompassing tasks such as crimping, cutting, stripping, and taping wires to exact specifications. Your attention to detail and adherence to quality standards will be paramount in producing reliable and durable electrical connections.

Responsibilities:

  • Crimping: Execute precise crimping techniques to securely connect wires to terminals, ensuring electrical conductivity and durability of connections.
  • Cutting: Utilise appropriate tools to accurately cut wires to required lengths, adhering to specifications outlined in work instructions.
  • Striping: Proficiently strip wire insulation, maintaining consistency in strip length for uniformity in connections.
  • Cable Prep: Prepare cables for assembly by organising and arranging wires according to layout diagrams or instructions, ensuring proper alignment and orientation.
  • Taping: Apply insulating tape and other materials as necessary to bundle and protect wires.
  • Heat Shrinkage: Operate heat shrink equipment to apply heat to tubing or sleeves, effectively sealing connections
  • Interpret basic electrical drawing wiring diagrams and assembly drawings: To comprehend assembly requirements and ensure accurate wiring configurations.
  • Basic Mechanical Skills: Proficiency in assembling flatpack components and structures, facilitating the integration of wiring harnesses into mechanical assemblies or enclosures.
  • Utilise Microsoft Word: For inputting job details, accessing digital work instructions, and updating job sheets or production records as necessary.
  • Quality checks: Maintain a vigilant approach to quality assurance, adhering to established standards and procedures to produce harness assemblies that meet or exceed quality expectations.

Experience required:

  • Proven experience in harness wiring or related electrical assembly roles is preferred.
  • Familiarity with crimping tools, wire cutters, strippers, and other relevant equipment.
