Our Client based in the Burton on Trent area are looking for Mechanical Fitters with Engine Building experience ( Diesel).

Ideally, candidates with HGV or Plant experience.

Job Purpose

This role would involve the refurbishment of engines and similar equipment used in the rail, marine and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities & Activities

* Responsible for ensuring your own health and safety and that of others and promoting a positive health and safety culture within the workplace* Ensure all Health and safety obligations are met, and company policies are adhered to* Report any safety concerns, hazard observations, accidents and incidents by the end of that shift to allow full investigation and prevent re-occurrence* To be able to strip and re-build all the mechanical components of an engine, as per the work instruction.* To be able to work to OEM manuals.* To read and interpret assembly specifications and manuals, to plan assembly and build operations.* The ability to verify conformance of parts to stock lists, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.* To liaise with other business units to get the task completed.* The ability to adhere to strict deadlines.* To accurately complete documentation to the Company's standards* To ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner.* To mentor trainees / apprentices when applicable.* To report any near misses.* To comply with Company and statutory Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental and HR policies and procedures.* To report any failures / faults identified.
